"KLAMAUK"
BROOOMM! rumbles, cnispers and squeeks. It shoves, breathes, roars and tiks, like a gigant Tinguely machine in where four musicians are strangled pushing, blowing and hitting it into movement. Where it all leads to? ..Vibrations of air for the ear.
"Klamauk" was BROOOMM!'s first program that premiered in the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ. For this program the ensemble was inspired by Jean Tinguely, an artist who makes machines without use from scrap material. Four composers wrote a piece for the ensemble and with the help of a visual artist turned it into one big machine.
BROOOMM! was supported by the Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst and the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst.

TINGUELY

Tinguely used to make moving sculptures, from rusty iron and scrap materials. His big ratteling but also colorfull objects have a vital, happy but also poetic and ironic atmosphere. With his squeeking, pumping, rumbling collection he left an unerasable print on the artworld since the fifties.
